The Goal of Production

The reason the Production Team exists is to serve what The Lord is doing in His Church. We take what happens on platform, amplify it to the back of the Sanctuary, and send it out all around the world.

A BIBLICAL BASIS FOR PRODUCTION

In Exodus 28, Yahweh has delivered the Hebrew people from Egypt, but they have no idea how to worship Him. In the instructions for how to construct the tabernacle and guidelines for worship, He says,

"You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. So you shall speak to all who are gifted artisans, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments, to consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest [...] they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, artistically worked." v2-3,6

Color, light, sound... The visual and auditory aesthetics in worship mattered in the tabernacle and they still matter in The Lord's Church today. We pray to be filled with the same Spirit of wisdom and aim to worship Him through how He is leading our worship experience at Calvary Chatt.

Why are there cameras in the room?
The cameras give us the ability to take what's happening in our room and broadcast outside of the room. They make it possible for people all over the world watch our services online each week!
Do you use haze at Calvary Chatt?
Currently, we do not use any haze during weekend services. However, haze is sometimes used during special events in order to see the beams of light moving through the air.
Is the volume monitored during worship?
Yes! The volume, or sound pressure level (SPL) during worship is measured and monitored throughout our services. Using a measurement of decibels on an A weighted scale (dBA), we average 88-92 dBA for the duration of the music with 80 dBA being the quietest and 94 dBA the absolute loudest.
Won't the volume during worship cause hearing damage?
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) "established a recommended exposure limit (REL) of 85 A-weighted decibels (dBA) averaged over an eight-hour workday."

According to the NIOSH article here, the human ear is safe to be exposed to 91 dBA for up to 2hrs before hearing damage occurs. We aim to keep the volume of the music at that level, and the music is at this level for no more than 20 minutes per service. Exposure to these levels for that duration once a week is safe and will not damage hearing under normal medical circumstances.
Why aren't the cameras on screen during worship?
In order to simplify visual stimulation during the worship at our weekend services, we have chosen to not have cameras on screen during that time.
Do I need any experience to volunteer with production?
Nope! We will teach you everything you need to know.
As a production volunteer, how often can I serve?
Our volunteers serve once a month, during both services, either Saturday or Sunday.
